Christ Stratakis joined the firm in 1960, having served for several years as Secretary and General Counsel for a New York shipping firm. His practice areas include commercial and maritime arbitration and litigation, ship registrations and finance, and commercial real estate sales and acquisitions. He is named among “Who’s Who in American Law,” and has authored several articles, including “Vessel as a Maritime Concept” in the New York University Intramural Law Review, “Sovereign Immunity, Enforceability of Judgments and Related Matters,” and “Business Transactions with the USSR” for the American Bar Association.

Mr. Stratakis received a Bachelor of Science degree from Drexel University in 1951, and earned his J.D. from New York University in 1955. He is a member of the American Bar Association, the Maritime Law Association of the United States, and the Board of Governors of Drexel University (“Emeritus”). He was admitted to the New York Bar in 1956, to the United States Southern and Eastern Districts of New York, the United States Court of Appeals for the Second Circuit and to the U.S. Supreme Court in 1970. He has taken leadership positions and is still active in various educational, philanthropic and religious organizations in New York. In addition to English, he speaks, reads and writes fluently in Greek.
